Qld: Rob Messenger in one man protest against Beattie
BUNDABERG, Qld, Aug 17 AAP - Queensland Premier Peter Beattie was met by a one-man
protest when he arrived in the south-east Queensland city of Bundaberg today.
Campaigning ahead of the September 9 election, Mr Beattie was greeted by Nationals
MP Rob Messenger who was waiting at Bundaberg airport with a loud hailer.
Mr Messenger, who raised the initial question in parliament about rogue surgeon Jayant
Patel, attempted to hand Mr Beattie a petition calling for a new Bundaberg hospital.
Mr Messenger also shouted slogans at Mr Beattie "Heh heh, ho ho, Peter Beattie's got to go".
Mr Beattie quickly headed off to a venue to make a policy announcement later this morning.
