VETERANS MEMORIAL CONTRACT AWARDED.(CAPITAL REGION)

Forging ahead with plans to build a local memorial that honors residents who are war veterans, the City Council has voted to award a $185,000 contract to J&A Bayly Construction of East Greenbush.

The company will be responsible for securing the stones needed for the memorial, as well as taking care of the landscaping and installation of the memorial.

Council members also approved Thursday night a resolution authorizing the city to take out a bond in an amount not to exceed $225,000 for other expenses related to the memorial that will be constructed in Veterans Memorial Park. Work on the much-anticipated project …
